What PrecioLuz is
PrecioLuz is an iPhone and iPad app that shows the hourly price of electricity in Spain for customers on the regulated PVPC tariff, alongside information about the electricity system and forecasts. By installing and using it you accept these terms.
Prices are informational
This is the important part, so plainly: the information shown by PrecioLuz is indicative and has no contractual or binding value.
- The price on your bill depends on your energy retailer, your contract, your contracted power, taxes and other items the app does not know about.
- The data comes from official sources, but it may arrive late, incomplete, or not at all (a source outage, a change in its format, a network failure).
- Forecasts — renewables, solar or weather — are third-party estimates, not a promise of what will happen.
Do not make significant financial decisions based on the app alone. For the official figure, consult Red Eléctrica de España or your energy retailer.
Where the data comes from
- Red Eléctrica de España — PVPC price, demand, generation and emissions (ESIOS and REData)
- PVGIS, European Commission — solar radiation estimates
- AEMET — weather forecast
These bodies do not sponsor PrecioLuz and are not associated with it. The electricity price is free in PrecioLuz and will stay that way: the premium version adds features of its own, never access to electricity system information.
The premium version
- It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: you pay once and it is tied to your Apple ID.
- It unlocks features developed by the studio (personal threshold alerts, advanced widgets and whatever is added in the future), never access to data that is free in the basic version.
- The purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. Charges, refunds and invoicing are governed by Apple’s terms, and refund requests are handled directly with Apple.
- You can restore your purchase on any device signed in with the same Apple ID, from the paywall itself.
- If you reside in the European Union, you have the right of withdrawal granted to you by law, under the conditions applied by Apple as the seller.
Acceptable use
You may use PrecioLuz freely for personal purposes. You may not:
- Extract the data served by the app or its server in an automated or bulk fashion.
- Impersonate the app or its server, or attempt to circumvent its verification mechanisms and request limits.
- Redistribute the data for commercial purposes.
- Decompile, modify or create derivative works of the application, beyond what mandatory law allows.
Availability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. There is no guarantee that the app or its server will always be operational, or that the information will be free of errors. Features may change, and a feature may be withdrawn if the source that feeds it stops being available.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the studio is not liable for damages arising from the use or inability to use the app, nor for consumption or contracting decisions made on the basis of the information shown. Nothing written here excludes liability that cannot be legally excluded, nor the rights granted to you by consumer protection law.
Intellectual property
The application, its name, its design and its code belong to ApSD. The data shown belongs to its respective sources and is displayed with attribution.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its revision date. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting it.
Governing law
Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you retain the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence and to use the dispute resolution mechanisms granted to you by law.
